How do Thermacell mosquito repellent devices work?
A small gas cartridge heats an active ingredient tablet. This heated tablet releases an active ingredient that disperses into the ambient air near the device, creating a 20 m² protection zone against mosquitoes in the vicinity. This principle works entirely without electricity, making it ideal for use on the patio, garden, or balcony.
How long does Thermacell Mosquito Repellent keep mosquitoes away?
The gas cartridge that heats the active ingredient tablet lasts for 12 hours. One active ingredient tablet provides up to four hours of protection against mosquitoes. The active ingredient tablets are coloured blue, and as soon as the active ingredient in the tablet evaporates, the tablet changes from blue to white. This signals to the user that the tablet needs to be replaced.
Where should I place my Thermacell mosquito repellent device?
Thermacell mosquito repellent devices create a protection zone of 20 m². Therefore, you should place the device in the centre of the area you want to protect. The protection zone forms a circle around the device. If you're sitting on the patio with your family in the evening, simply place the device directly on the table to protect everyone sitting at the table. If you're sitting by the lake with friends, simply place the device on the grass next to you. It's important that the device is positioned so that the protective dome can be set up and the device isn't obscured. The protection zone cannot be set up under a table or in strong winds.
